"it would have been better if..."

Could you please correct the following sentence:

"It would have been better if I had not buy these dubious doughnuts for the breakfast, since everyone who has tried them is struggling with dyspepsia at present."

My general doubts here concern using perfect tenses.

Is "suffering with" a common expression or it'd better be "suffering from"?

Or both variants are legal?

You're right suffering from is much better. You do hear suffering with but suffering from is more common and more formal.
