'It was me who...' vs. 'It was I who...'

Hi

'It was me who...' vs. 'It was I who...'

Which version is 'more correct' in English? (I meet both, equally).
I also would be glad to know more about the correct use of 'he', 'she', 'we' and 'they' in similar phrases.

Yes, don't use the plural:
It was they/them who received...
It was we/us who received...

I included "they" and "we" in the above examples because MM mentioned them, but I'd neve
