"It" vs "the shopping mall"

Hi there, In the following context, the shopping mall or it : which one is natural. Are they both correct?

Here's the context:
  • John: Have you reached the garden? Me: Yes, I have. John: Can see a big shopping mall there? Me: No, I can't see it/the shopping mall.
I know it is better to say just "No, I can't" But I want to which one is natural and correct?
