1- Listen Shelly, if you abuse someone always, I don't think I also have to do it/that.

'demeaning' might be a better word choice than 'abusing'. 'abusing' suggests something more physical while 'demeaning' is more verbal.

'do that' is not wrong instead of 'do it', but in my judgment 'do it' is heard more often.

Just because the whole industry is immoral doesn't mean they should get a break.
Just because it's self-destructive doesn't mean it's caused by a mental illness.
