Regional Manager visits

Mr Ananda, Regional Manager was here last week. The purpose of his visit was to sort out Internet/broadband link with existing service provider. There was problem some week back. We warned them in both written and verbally. We gave a week notice and if still problem, we would terminate the contract with them. We have noticed for last week that the Internet link has been improving.

ID smart card

ABCN is changing the way that staff log onto IT systems to improve security. The new Smart Card system will enable staff to log onto DFID systems when they see the “Welcome to Windows” screen. Staff will simply need to insert the card into the computer keyboard and enter a PIN code that will be provided when they enroll for the new card. By using both the card and PIN, our systems will be much more secure.

We have received 70 new keyboards but not the smart card. It is easy to use but you will be provided training before using this technology.

USB Drive – Memory Stick or Pen Drive

ABCN has introduced Sanctuary Device Control Software to audit data transferred from its network to removable media devices (USB Drive). This means we can read documents from any media but document saving is only with ABCN corporate coloured pen drives.

The software has already been installed in your computer but it’s some feature are disabled.

We have received 23 pen drives. These are password protected. We will distribute them once receive the go-ahead single from the head office.
