Topic: In the future, it seems more difficult to live on the Earth. Some people think more money should be spent on researching other planets to live on, such as Mars. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
The idea of living on other planets has been studied because the Earth would not be able to survive eternally. While I accept this may suit in the long run, I still believe that there are some alternative ways to help mankind coexist with the Earth.
On the one hand, there are some reasons why scientific projects should be funded more in order to seek new shelters for humankind in the future. Firstly, by investing money in sciences, many prospective experiments applying advanced technology will be conducted, which give informative databases to assess the viability of space existence. For instance, if the more space exploration projects that simulate similar life conditions on the Earth-like planets are carried out, the more these planets’ comprehensions are obvious, which would find out the ways to adapt to the Universe. Secondly, the potential planets that can live on would bring a lot of benefits for human beings. In fact, it may have plenty of natural resources, such as rare metals and oil, which not only provide materials for developing industries but also solves some current issues like overpopulation.
On the other hand, long-term solutions to protect the Earth should be taken into account as well. First, since space discoveries are challenging, these researches might take a long period of time to achieve feasible results. This means that humans need to seek many alternative solutions to make the Earth friendlier to live in. In addition, what appears more realistic is to solve the environmental problems, which require more attention and effort from scientists as well as society. Climate change, for example, is an alarming issue that should be put a priority since it directly impacts all species living on Earth in the near future.
In conclusion, investing more money in finding and researching a new life in the Universe is plausible, but there is by no means the key consideration for human beings in maintaining and improving their lives.
