it seems like I haven't even left my hometown

Being a Westerner who lives in Taipei, I think globalization is great because it gives me so much more access to things, pastimes/entertainments/amusements, and people from around the world, that it seems like I haven't even left my hometown of London.

For a start, do all the three underlined words work in the above situation?

Second, is it more formal and therefore better to replace seems like with seems that?

Thanks.

For a start, do all the three underlined words work in the above situation? 'Entertainment' (singular) seems the most natural choice of the three.

Thanks, Clive, for the helpful reply.

I get it now.

For the sake of curiosity, why don't pastimes and amusements fit in the context?

Hi,

why don't pastimes and amusements fit in the context?

A pastime can be something you do by yourself, eg reading.

An amusement sounds too frivolous, too self-indulgent, perhaps too childish. It's a more limited word, and would not be sound as natural here.
