It - prepositional phrase

She finds it boring at home.

The 'it' above refers to the prepositional phrase at the end. Is it grammatically right?

I have asked about it because it is seldom seen in any writing, formal or informal.

Thank you.

I suspect the "it" is the dummy it, as in "It's raining outside."

I don't think it is a dummy 'it' but a pronoun.

But dummy 'it' is a pronoun! Avangi's post is correct.
