The second sounds more natural to me.

Also I'd replave "just like" with "exactly like" or "very much like".

You need the preposition. You didn't grow up the place; you grew up in the place.
It looks just like the place I grew up in is completely idiomatic. (I added the I; I'm sure you meant to include it -- although any other subject would do: we, you, etc..)
