Question:

Should I use is or has been?

Sentence:

It is/has been 30 days since my interview for the position of marketing trainee. I would be very grateful if you would provide an update on the status of my application.

A few general comments.

In many cases, they only contact you if you are successful.

It's normal to add more.

eg More politeness. Thank them for the interview.
