Grammar

it is what is is right now

"I think it is what is is right now," said CNN political analyst Gloria Borger.

Should that be "it is what it is right now"?

If not, please someone tell me the meaning?

Thanks

It is what it is is a fixed expression in casual English; I think Gloria made a slip of the tongue or you made a slip of the ear.

Got it! Thanks, Mister. I think the CNN writer made a slip of the hand.
