How about the structure? "It is simply that..." Is it an emphatic structure?

eg. It is simply that one gets a greater depth of pleasure by visiting and seeing a town with one's own eyes.

eg. It is simply that one gets a greater depth of pleasure by visiting and seeing a town with one's own eyes.

You could say that, here, it does indeed add some degree of emphasis.

But in other cases, it might not. eg It might just be used to give a simplified explanation of something.
