It is our duty as human beings to push forward into the unknown(s).

It is our duty as human beings to push forward into the unknown(s).

The sentence starts at 38 seconds, and I think I hear an "-s" sound at the end of "unknown" ever so slightly. It's not terribly clear sound because of some background sound, but I think something's there.

Now, do you hear "unknown" or "unknowns"?

And grammatically, does it make sense to have the plural "unknowns" in this context?
