There are so many ways to scout out other area’s cultures. Accruing knowledge about foreign places from practical experience is supposed not to be incentive because of the ample of information from research documents. I agree to a point with that perspective.
There are so many sources from which everyone can learn about the culture of places without visiting there. Firstly, books are exemplary reference materials with adequate statistics and illustrative images. We can have more understanding of cultural traits of a region by reading books that are summarized by experienced people. Documentary movies are also a great help as they are shooting and reviewing veraciously from that very place. And the best way is learning through the internet. Social networking sites are foundations where people share a variety of video clips or articles being published by travellers, so learners can acquire more information from different angles.
On the other hand, paying a visit to new destinations has its own advantages. One of them is to see those lifestyles with our own eyes. Although abundant information is provided by books and movies, those knowledge can be obsolete and deficient because society changes day after day. To illustrate, world trends and inventions are ameliorated constantly, so what were recorded for a long previous time can not apply in the contemporary era; therefore,we should arriving at regions having custom and tradition we curious about with the purpose of getting exposed to cultures so that we can have our own assessment without relying on others’ subjective standpoints. At the same time, witnessing the beauty and diversity of other places is likely to cultivate our interest in raising savvy. For instance, instead of attending a mundane geography lesson or reading geographical materials, we prefer travelling and enjoy cultures’ atmosphere.
To recapitulate, although studying from secondary sources to learn various cultures without visiting the country and people is convenient, travelling and being a part of the community provides a holistic apprehension of the culture.
