It is not nature

Hi

Bear in mind that it is not nature or your surroundings which give you symptoms, but rather your own fears, antipathies, and limitations (mostly on a subconscious level).

--- I'm wondering whether "nature" here means the nature like flowers, trees etc. or maybe "nature" here refers to your nature. So in other words it says that your sypmtoms aren't something natural and they're not related to your surroundings, but ...

Thanks

Newguest I'm wondering whether "nature" here means the nature like flowers, trees etc. , genetic make-up). It's not clear unless we have more context what kind of symptoms are involved, and that may be the key to interpreting the whole sentence.

I think it's closer to this, but it could very well mean your physical nature (i.e., genetic make-up). It's not clear unless we have more context what kind of symptoms are involved, and that may be the key to interpreting the whole sentence.

Hi

these symptoms here refer to "allergies".

Thanks

Ah, allergies! In that case it seems clear to me that "nature" does refer to trees, flowers, grasses - anything that carries pollen, which is often allergenic. So the author is promoting the idea that allergies are psychosomatic - not caused by the products of the natural world like pollen. (Curious thought.)
