It is about time

A: It is about time he was recognized.

B: It is about time he (should) be recognized.

C: It is about time he is recognized.


Which one is correct?

If more than one is correct, is there difference in the meaning?

If B is correct, can we remove "should"?

Anonymous Which one is correct? They are all correct, but you hear A the most and C next most. I don't hear B without 'should' at all, and only rarely the version with 'should'.
