This describes some kind of competition:
After four rounds, only five students are left. Finally, by the sixth round, it's narrowed down to just me and Alice.

I understand that "it's" is a contraction of either "it has" or "it is". In this particular context, I'd like to know which the boldfaced "it's" is a contraction of.
