Saying that we use only 10% of the brain implies that our abilities would not be impaired if 90@ of it were removed. But it is hard to see how a brain that is 90% useless would develop in the first place. The brain uses a large supply of the body's energy resources, and it has no hidden store of unused power. We use all of our brain.

"Does not have a hidden store of unused power" is used, I think, to mean that the whole brain is used to make us function; no part of the brain has a function but is not utilised (i.e., a useful function exists but is hidden, unused).
