It has been.......since I asked Vs I have asked

I asked a question to my friend 5 days ago. After 5 days, I met my friend and asked the same question. So what should I say below? [The question is 'what is Science']

1. It has been 5 days since I asked you the question.

or

2. It has been 5 days since I have asked you the question.
