Dear Teachers,Please compare these two sentences.1.) It has been 5 days since he returned.**2.) It has been 5 days since he was back.Someone said they are not same meaning, is that true? Teach me any difference. Thanks a lot

Thanks for your great help dimsumexpress.Originally I thought so as yours, but someone said I was wrong.“It has been 5 days since he was back.” implies “He is not back or not here now and you can’t see him here.” I am so confused…. Any native people can confirm this, thank you in advance.
