"It got me + gerund + gerund" Is this sentence structure fine?

Is it fine to have two gerunds next to each other in this sentence structure?

It got me imagining putting myself in their shoes.

I'm considering taking out one of the gerunds.

It got me imagining myself in their shoes.

I have already thought of changing either one of the gerunds into infinitive but they seem wrong to me.
