Please tell if these mean the same.

When the breeze blows I feel the freshness of water.

I'm just comparing breeze to a gentle shower to refer to the softness of the both.

Both sentences are possible. However, I feel that the intended meaning of the sentences may not be very clear. I think that the problem for me is that the feel of water on the skin is so different from that of air. Opinions may vary.

I fully agree with you, GPY. However it is there in a poem where a school boy expresses his joy over nature, on the way to school. Then he says this.
