I hear this in business English all the time, and I'm sure it's wrong, but not sure why "This is very concerning." Is this an improper use of a gerund? Can you explain why it is wrong? It is so jarring when I hear it!.

I t's just that in this example, it is easier to see that 'red' is an adjective.
