It does take vs it takes

Hi there!


Is the sentence "it does take me an hour" correct I wonder if I can use it instead of "it takes me an hour".

As much as I know, yes, both are correct but, the first one "It does take me an hour" is unnecessary in daily speaking unless you want to emphasize your statement.
