Unlike reptiles, birds are warm-blooded, so their body temperature would not correspond to the ambient air temperature.

Can I say,

When the weather is very cold or the food supply is short, hummingbirds save energy by lowering their body temperature so that their body temperature is close to the ambient air temperature.

They become torpid , when the weather is cold, or there is no food. It is a method that humminbergs use to conserve energy. For example if outside is minus 10, their body is minus 3.

Well, you can say that, but you need to check your facts. If an animal's body has a temperature below the freezing point it will be frozen solid. I don't think that is compatible with life.
