Scope Statement

Project Title:

Date:

Prepared by:

Project Justification: A research team is preparing to develop a smartwatch that will track food intake in all individuals so that they can support the person. The watch will scan energy levels in the body then they can aid the person to perform better.

Significant Deliverables: The smartwatch will contain hardware components and an application that is installed in the smartwatch. The hardware components of the watch will be made in China with specifications of the group. Programmers hired by the group will be in charge of developing the mobile application.

Project Success Criteria: The group has to pilot the project by trying the watch on several individuals to ensure it works. The group must have one doctor in the group to ensure he can be able to ascertain the smartwatch is providing reliable information.

Constraints and Assumptions: The watch will be developed in one month, estimates made by the team the budget of making one watch will be $50 which they intend to sell at $70. The assumption on this project is that the application which is made by different developers to the hardware will run on the smartwatch that has been developed by different hardware developers.

Gantt Chart

The smartwatch project will be done in several phases, and the whole project is estimated to begin and complete in one year. The first face of the project will be designing and development phase, the project team will identify the needs and requirements the team needs to have to deliver the project.

After project requirements and needs have been established, there is the need to estimate the total costs estimates for the whole project. The project team will work together with developers who have been hired to develop hardware. The developers should work hand in hand with application developers to ensure they can integrate what they are developing.

Construction

This phase of the project will involve coding of the project; the mobile application should be developed using languages that will ensure the mobile application is secure and can be developed in a language that is compatible and secure.

Testing

Once the project has been completed there will need to pilot the project and ensure the project will be working as supposed. The project team will have several watches tested to ensure the application is working as planned. The project team will work hand in hand with health practitioners to ensure the application is secure and working as it was proposed.

Project launching

On project completion, the team will review the whole project to ensure it is working as it was proposed. The team will then dispatch the watches through different platforms to make sales. The watches are an advanced technology that will aid humans in checking their health status and keep it to their best.

Control Chart

This is a tool that displays the data measured against project control measures. It is used to determine the predictability of the project, behaviors and project delivery. A control chart assesses all the factors and ensures the project team will be able to deliver the project, and it has to ensure it assesses and facilitates all the factors for project development.

Flowchart

Project charts are a project tool that is used to show project delivery, and the chart shows the project as it is being done phases. Projects that are done in phases can be delivered in a planned manner. There are no project phases that might have been skipped they will interrupt delivery of the project. Flowcharts also ensure project phases can be assessed to ensure project measures are done appropriately.

Pareto chart

A tool that is used to analyze data, the tool analyses data and can calculate how frequent problems or causes occur frequently. This tool can be used to track the progress of the project, and it can be able to see where there are problems and the measures that need to be taken to improve project delivery.

Project team roles are assigned to all individuals

The project team wants to develop a smartwatch that is beneficial to the people, and they want to seek more funding to make the project complete. The project team will also be able to have done a reliable project.

Project team supervisor checks individual project completion.

Mobile application developers

Mobile phone application developers are designing a smartphone application that can be used in the health sector. This is the first project of many other projects; mobile application developers are interested in designing.

Health care practitioners

Health care practitioners need to develop smartwatch applications that can help people in maintaining the health of individuals. This smartphone application will aid in checking the health care of individuals.

Watch manufacturers

Watch manufacturers are interested in the project as they would want their watches to be integrated into the project to ensure they will be able to integrate their mobile applications and to increase their market share for their watches.

Watch customers

The basic watch which customers are used to using is only capable of showing time. Smartwatch can be used in maintaining their health and ensuring they can know their energy levels. It will help in improving their healthy living.

Stakeholder analysis

Tutorial 6 activity 1

2a What is the critical Tpath

This is a sequence of processes presenting the time needed to carry out an operation especially that the processes are analyzed through computer software Microsoft project. For instance, in the literature review Gantt chart searching the library database for materials that will be used in preparing the project.

2b What tasks in the project are not on the critical path

The critical path in the project only covers the literature review of the project. There are other essential project phases it does not cover, which include;

  1. Project scope
  2. Requirement gathering
  3. Project schedule
  4. Project shortcomings

2c Slack time the tasks have? What does this mean for the projects

Slack time is the delay time a task in the project can take without affecting other projects. Slack time is a time that ensures project phases and tasks have the necessary time to be taken to complete the project. In all project, phases are ensured there it time taken to complete the project, and it will be complete.

3

The slack time planned in a project is essential because it helps to understand better how a project is to be carried out.

4

This is a network diagram showing the project schedule, and it can help in understanding the project better because it shows how the project literature should be created in phases. It will ensure there are no phases of the projects that are overlapped over other project phases.

Tutorial 8 – Activity 3

The red boxes show the progress in the schedule show the critical tasks that need to be carried out to ensure the project takes place in the planned schedule.

2.

The project baseline is used to track the progress of the project as it takes place in phases. All the project team will be in charge of ensuring they finish their phases as planned.

The project is supposed to end on 16th of April, all the project phases by that date should be complete

The black line indicates the project tracking it indicates the date the whole project is supposed to be complete. Tracking will also show when the project phase has been completed and the date of completion.

  1. Task completion

Task

Actual start

Actual finish

Search library database for material

20/06/18

21/06/18

Search Google Scholar for relevant material

22/06/18

23/06/18

Search for more information about the project in Google matters, and the search will delay the project by a day or two. The delay delivery delay is to ensure there is thorough research made during project search and the information is satisfactory.

Early start on the project affects the project finish, and the project team will have more time to complete the project. The project team will have additional time to ensure the team gets ample time to work on and finish the project.

Task

Actual start

Actual finish

It took an extra to ensure the source of information being used in the project is credible, and the extra day will affect project finish date. The project team will end to work on some tasks to ensure the finish date is adjusted for project completion.

Project content evaluation is a critical part of the project in ensuring the content of the project is well prepared. Content evaluation of the project may cost project completion within one day.

There is a composition cell in the table it is used to show which projects have been completed or the percentage of the project which is complete.

The tracking information shows when the project is supposed to end, there are project phases through which provide information on how the project is supposed to take place form the first step to the last project schedule.

There are dependencies of the project; dependencies are the tasks in the project that have to be completed before the next dependency of the project is initiated. All the tasks in the project are dependencies.

Lag in a project facilitates in doing a project to run faster, and a task can begin while the previous task is at 75%. This ensures project tasks will overrun and the project will finish up in time. However, if incomplete tasks are not assessed well, this may lead to an overrun that will produce poorly delivered tasks in a project.

An early start in the project will facilitate the project team ample time in ensuring they can complete the project on time and possibly earlier before. An early start in a project provides an added advantage in taking the right time to complete a project.

The project must be completed in time, and the project team needs to keep track of the project and ensure if there are parts of the project that are going wrong from what is expected they can track the project to ensure it can be delivered again in the proper time.

Activity 3

The project involved creating a smartwatch that keeps track of food consumption among the people consumption and their energy use. The watch should be used to ensure they can support the people to know when they have low energy intake in the body to take more.

The project scope was achieved, the hardware and software components of the project were being delivered by different technicians. There were assumptions that the hardware and software components would be integrated, but there were chances still that they might not integrate because they are made by different developers they might not integrate.

The hardware and application components of the project were delivered in the right manner. The hardware component was designed to fit different hand wrists form the different people. The mobile application designed was precise and could measure and assess the energy intake of different people.

The only problem with the project was compatibility issues between the hardware component and the software. The mobile application developer had to be redesigned because the application was too heavy to run in the hardware. The smartwatch was designed to handle simple operations.

While developing some smartwatch developers should ensure the specifications of the hardware and software components are compatible. In the smartwatch project, the hardware and application components were developed from different aspects, in the end, there were compatibility issues that. Hardware and application developers should ensure they can work together to improve project delivery.

The project poster will have all the information about the project, and the project team should have included information showing compatibility between the hardware components of the watch and the application component of the watch.
