It

Hi.

It doesn't matter what you do.

The verb "doesn't matter" is an intransitive one; "It" is an empty (dummy) subject in the sentence; "what you do" is a complement.

My question is: is "what you do" a clause complement of the predicator "doesn't matter" or is it a complement (substitute) of the subject "It", (i.e. "what you do" = "It" ) ?

Thank you.
