Hello teachers,

When someone is dead can we say "He is my hero." or do I have to refer to them in the past tense?

The tense tells the time when you consider(ed) him a hero; it has nothing to do with whether he's dead.

Benjamin Franklin was my hero when I was in high school, but he is not my hero anymore.
