Isn't having any

Hi

Please tell me how common the expression "isn't having any" among native speakers. Is it common in spoken English?

I tried to talk to her about her past but she wasn't having any.

Thanks,

Tom

You can say "She wasn't having any of it" to mean she would not accept what you had to say. I tried to tell her why I was home so late, but she wasn't having any of it. You could use "she wasn't having any of it" in your sentence to mean she would not have a conversation about her past.

  • You can say "She wasn't having any of it" to mean she would not accept what you had to say.
  • I tried to tell her why I was home so late, but she wasn't having any of it.
  • You could use "she wasn't having any of it" in your sentence to mean she would not have a conversation about her past.
  • This would not be used in writing, I'd say.
