Is/are confusion

Hi all,

I am confuse over the usage of is and was in this particular sentence.

Example:

He is married.

He was married.

Both sentences sound reasonable to me, however, I could not pin point the reason of writing it this way.

Thanks!

Cheers,

JenniferUnagi:)

Hi Jenniferunagi and welcome to the Forums, "He is married" means that the man is currently married to someone. "He was married" means that the man is no longer married. Perhaps he divorced his spouse or maybe his spouse died.
