Is what she said correct please?

at 10:08

A loss is that devastating but a win is that sweet of a victory.

When I look at the sentence, I can't help but think of the form "A loss is devastating, but a win is that much sweeter." A xxx is devastating but a yyy is that much sweeter"

Would that have been correct or is what she said correct?

Is it called a 'form'?

Thank you

Anonymous A loss is that devastating but a win is that sweet of a victory. That is what she said. It is not careful grammar for written English, but it is common and natural in informal conversation as here.

  • Anonymous A loss is devastating, but a win is very sweet.
  • That is probably how we would revise it when using the idea in more formal writing.
