Is, Were, or Was?

I first wrote the following, but then thought because I used 'would' in the main clause, I should change 'is' to 'were,' or more colloquially to 'was.' Is it okay to keep 'is' as it is, or should I change it to either 'were' or 'was'? Or, maybe, are all possible?

Depending on the context where it is used, you would also say that sentence to mean totally different.

Thanks,

Hiro, you have other problems with your sentence. For instance, 'context' = 'where it is used'. I suggest: Depending on the context, you can/could also give that sentence a totally different meaning.
