Is water correctly used here?

Oh, sorry. I didn't make myself understood. My point is:

Do "abuse water" collocate with each other? I am not sure about the use of "abuse".

In your reply, I noticed that you used "misuse water". Can it be replaced by "abuse water"?

The definition of "abuse" is: to use (something) to bad effect or for a bad purpose; misuse.

If you are abusing water by using it to carry pollutants into the sea (like some corporations) then I would say abuse.

If, on the other hand, you are not using your resources prudently (wasting water), I would say misuse. It's basically the same meaning but "misuse" does not carry with it
