Is vs. was with 'another'
A. I wasn't able to attend school yesterday because I was sick. Another thing is I had to take care of my little sister because she was sick as well.

I would use "is" or perhaps "was" in the first set but only "was" in the other two. "another thing is" is more like a fixed expression and that's why I would strongly prefer it to the "was" version from B.

I would use "is" or perhaps "was" in the first set but only "was" in the other two.
"another thing is" is more like a fixed expression and that's why I would strongly prefer it to the "was" version from B.
