Is vs was

Hi,

Here is the situation I encountered.

An hour ago Kelly guessed that a software was not installed in my laptop.

After an hour I have confirmed that particular software was not there on my laptop, and would like to update Kelly about the same through email.

In this context, I have used was in two places in below sentence. Please confirm whether it is correct or not.

  1. Kelly, Your guess was (or is?) correct, Software was (or is?) not installed on my laptop.

Regards,

Ravi

I would use "your guess was" and "the software is."

I wouldn't object to "your guess is" because it's still correct.

The guess was in the past, so the guess was correct.

The software was not installed in the past (Nobody installed it.), so it was not installed is fine, I would say.

But the software
