Which is correct:

You don't know who Jack or Steve is?

The first sentence is grammatically correct. "or" is Alternative/ Disjunctive conjunction that denotes a choice between two alternatives. Here Jack/ Steve is singular. To be more precise, "Neither Jack nor Steve is known to me." But in a sentence like the following "are" should be used, as subjects are both plural :-" You don't know who kings or ministers are".
