I understand the basic rule governing usage of is or are depending on singular or plural subject, however, I get confused when the subject sounds plural but is acting as a unit.
For example - is it grammatically correct to say: "None of your weapons is suppressed" or "None of the leading characters is likable"
or should it be are?
Thanks in advance for any confirmation/correction
