"Is it easy to have e-statements?" might be a better choice, though.

When using Microsoft Word, if you type in the two sentences from the questions I originally posted, it tells you to switch Is to Are. So that is a little confusing to me.

I am not sure what you mean by "having" in this context. It sounds like you work in customer service, and are intending to ask a client if they would prefer using electronic statements instead of paper.

The 2nd sentence is correct. Regardless of whether you are talking about plural or singular e-statements, concentrate on the words "Is having" and the last word "easy". You would not say "Are having it easy?" for example. You would however say "Are e-statements easy?".
