Is using word ''miscall'' in that way okay?

0Here in my town people are used to use word 01i00miscall02i00 for 01i00giving one or two rings on someone's cell phone without talking to that called person02i00. Example: 01i00please come out at your front door when I give you a miscall02i00. But dictionary doesn't define 01i00miscall02i00 in that way. 01b01font00What do you have to say on this?02font02b0-

If you're talking about a mobile phone, are you sure people aren't saying "I'll give you a 01i00missed call02i00" i.e. I'll hang up before it goes to voicemail, so your phone will show my number. 0-

0 I have to do that after I have visited my parents to let them know I haven't died horribly in a car accident on the way home, lol. I don't think it's an uncommon action but I've not heard it called a 'missed call' or 'misscall' before, so I guess it is a local useage. Missed call does sound more logical to me. 0-

0Nona, it's good to know parents are the same the world over! But my parents would want to actually talk to me. I mean, what if the reason the phone stopped ringing after the second ring BECAUSE of the horrible car accident? I'm sure my mother would come up with that. 050010id5
