Is using are when talking about an organization correct?

An example would be "Absolute Legends (organization name) are/is recruiting" or "SK Gaming are/is recruiting". I know "is" is indeed the correct term, but are there situations when are can be used? When saying "are" I'm referring to the people who run the organization, when saying "is" I'm referring to the organization itself.

I think the short answer to this question is that "is" is US, but "are" is UK

In London, I would say "Absolute Legends are recruiting"

In the US, I think they would say "Absolute Legends is recruiting"

Both are correct, but one or the other will sound more natural, depending on where you are
