Is "threshold" a valid verb?

I'm writing a report which includes a description of the process of applying a threshold. Can this process of applying a threshold to something be called "thresholding"? I've seen the word "thresholding" used in various places but the dictionary websites I've checked only list threshold as a noun with no mention whatsoever of a verb form which makes me uncertain as to whether "thresholding" is a real word.
