Is this usage used only in American English?

disposition

4. final settlement of a matter: What was the disposition of the case?

It's one of definitions in Random House English dictionary.

But, Oxford English dictionary does not include the meaning.

As far as I know, Oxford English dictionary is based on British English, Random House being dependent on American English. So may I take it that disposition meaning final settlement of a matter is used only by American English speaker?

That Bible of lexicons the Oxford English Dictionary does not show that definition, either, US or UK, and I agree with them. Neither does American Heritage . I think Random House has revealed itself to be quite the descriptivist work.
