Is this usage of single correct?

It hasn’t been proven that any single man on earth can live or stay young forever.

Grammatically yes, but to me the whole sentence seems oddly worded and over-complicated. It seems to be leaving open the possibility that such a thing is possible or feasible, but just not yet conclusively proven. Also, "on earth" seems superfluous, and "man" unncessarily specific.
