Is this too long of a sentence?

This writing assignment doesn’t ask for perfection, and the finished work would only be shared with the class, so the students could all feel relaxed and have fun with the assignment.

(I'm writing a paper, so I get a little nervous about getting picked apart. Any help would be much appreciated!)

I think that enoon was only saying that some of the teachers here do a thorough job of critiquing and nitpicking posters' grammar and composition.. Of course it is better that we do it than your real teacher, no?
