Is this the right usage of the conjunction?

She threatened you so that you wanted to kill yourself.

So that defines a purpose

So it should have been "so that you'd want to kill yourself"


But that was obviously not the speaker wanted to say.


They could've said

She threatened you ,so much so, that you wanted to kill yourself


She threatened you ,to such an extent, that you wanted to kill yourself
