Is this the correct use of Isle?

I had a dream I was lost on an isle.

Top answer

" "Isle" means "island," but it would be used in a more literary or poetic context. For example, the following would be appropriate: I had a dream I was lost on a beautiful tropic isle. I had a dream I was lost on the Isle of Wild Women.
