The difference is quite clear. The first one is grammatically correct, and the second is grammatically wrong.

Ali is a singular subject of the verb "choose", so an "s" must be added in the present tense: Do you think Ali chooses the book ...?

Sorry about the grammatical error. When you ask someone about their opinion, can you put the question in the past tense as in: Did you think...?" Shouldn't it be "Do you think....?" Thank you.
