Is this structure still in use?

While reading Thomas Common's 1990 translation of THUS SPAKE ZARATHUSTRA I heeded a sentence, "Pure is his eyes, and ..." which means his eyes is pure. As I noticed this kind of ordering of language is wierd, I'd like to ask if this is correct at current time, or even at then?

If you watched the movie "300" (the Spartan story)

You will hear this kind of word order giving heavier moods to the adjectives.
