It's very informal British English. It wouldn't be appropriate in all contexts, and '******' verges on the edges of swearing - some people are offended by it. Likewise 'knackered' is a word some people don't like. Put it this way, I would happily say it to my friends, and while I might say it to my parents, they'd raise an eyebrow at me!

Yes, it is.
It is in both Longman and Merriam-Webster, so it's standard enough (both "******" and "knackered")
