Following a disastrous campaign led by Kerianseray into Silvanesti in 426 AC, Gilthas declared that they would no longer waste elven lives in trying to reclaim the lost nations. Instead, Gilthas decided that his people would seek out a sanctuary that could serve as a new home for the elven race. He eventually learned about a valley called Inath-Wakenti that was near Khur, and he had his wife lead a contingent of scouts to investigate the location.
